Kluivert speaks out on Asnawi’s absence from Indonesia National Team

Patrick Kluivert clarified the absence of Asnawi Mangkualam from Indonesia’s National Team during a press conference in Sydney — stating that there was no specific reason behind the decision.

The former national team captain under Shin Tae-yong — who led the squad from 2021 to 2023, was not included in the roster for the upcoming match against Australia.

“No, no, no, there is no specific reason (for leaving out Asnawi),” Kluivert said. “There are many other players who are also not in the squad.”

The Dutch coach directly supervised the national team’s first training session in Sydney — a day before the match against Australia.
