Kluivert Prepares Backup Plan as Ole Romeny Faces Surgery

According to a statement from PSSI, Indonesia head coach Patrick Kluivert has prepared a backup plan for the Garuda squad, who are likely to be without Ole Romeny.

The 25-year-old striker, currently playing for Oxford United, suffered an injury during the 2025 President’s Cup pre-season tournament.

PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir revealed that Romeny has consulted with the Oxford United medical team as well as the national team doctors in the Netherlands.

“Ole will undergo surgery on Thursday and his recovery process will take quite some time,” said Thohir.

This situation has raised concerns among Indonesian fans, as Romeny is at risk of missing the Fourth Round of the 2025 World Cup Qualifiers, scheduled for October.
