Kings League Plans US Expansion by 2026

The Kings League, a seven-a-side football format founded by Gerard Pique, has announced plans to expand into the United States by 2026 — adding to the list of countries where this online-oriented competition has established its presence.

Kings League CEO Djamel Agaoua revealed at a Paris press conference that the league will begin operations on the US East Coast — the announcement coming ahead of the Kings World Cup Clubs final at La Défense Arena.

The league, established by the former Spanish international defender, has already expanded into Italy, Germany, France, and Brazil — with additional plans to launch a MENA league in the Middle East and Africa through a partnership with the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund.

  • €5-7 million investment per new market
  • Latest funding reached €60 million
  • Avoiding China expansion due to regulatory challenges
  • UK entry delayed due to streaming platform penetration

This competition format features shorter matches with special rules, including “President Penalties” — a unique feature allowing club owners to score goals alongside players.
