Kim Yeon-koung carved a perfect ending to her career by leading Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders to the Korean Volleyball League championship, as reported by The Spike.

Pink Spiders — who last won the title in the 2018-2019 season — defeated Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks 3-2 (26-26, 26-24, 24-26, 23-25, 15-13) in the final match at Samsan World Gymnasium, Incheon.

The legendary player delivered an impressive performance with 34 points — including 7 blocks and 1 service — while claiming her first MVP title in 16 years.

“I shed a few tears at the last point, but I didn’t cry out loud. After the 3rd and 4th matches, reporters talked a lot about the past, which annoyed me,” said Kim.

“I talked a lot with the players to get along. It was a short period, but the players worked very hard. I’m grateful they helped us finish the game well.”
