Kim Yeon-koung — South Korean veteran spiker — has been a crucial figure for Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders since the beginning of her career. Pink Spiders remains the only Korean club that Kim has represented during her domestic league competition.

Kim Yeon-koung‘s career journey began in the 2005-2006 season with Pink Spiders — then known as Cheonan Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders. She immediately achieved remarkable success by winning three championships in her first four seasons, with the last title secured in the 2008-2009 season.

After success in Korea, Kim Yeon-koung decided to develop her career internationally. For nearly a decade, the spiker who inspired Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi competed in various top leagues:

  • Japanese League
  • Turkish League
  • Chinese League

Despite reaching mature age, Kim Yeon-koung‘s abilities remained consistent after returning to strengthen Pink Spiders in 2020 — proving her status as one of the best spikers in the Korean league.
