Kim Sang-sik refuses to put extra pressure on Vietnam U-23

Ahead of ASEAN Cup U-23 2025, coach Kim Sang-sik is taking a different approach with Vietnam U-23 — he chooses not to burden his players with expectations of defending their title.

The Golden Star Warriors enter this tournament as defending champions after claiming trophies in 2022 and 2023. Vietnam U-23 is drawn in Group B alongside Cambodia and Laos — a group considered less challenging than Group A.

In Group A, Indonesia U-23 will face tougher competition with:

• Malaysia
• Philippines
• Brunei Darussalam

The tournament will be held at two venues — Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium Jakarta and Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium Bekasi from July 15 to 29, 2025.
