Kim Sang-sik only wary of Indonesia and Thailand in ASEAN Cup U-23

Stadium Astro highlights the controversial statement from Vietnam U-23 national team coach — Kim Sang-sik only expresses concern about two teams ahead of ASEAN Cup U-23 2025.

The tournament scheduled for next month divides 10 participating teams into three groups. Indonesia U-23 national team is in Group A with Malaysia, Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam — while Vietnam is grouped in Group B with Cambodia and Laos.

“Based on my observations, Thailand and Indonesia have always been strong competitors,” stated Kim Sang-sik to Stadium Astro.

“Thailand stands out with their high technical ability and solid game organization,” he added.

This statement has raised eyebrows in Malaysian media — considering several other ASEAN teams have also shown significant development in recent years.
