Despite the record-breaking achievements of RRQ Hoshi this season, head coach Alfi “Khezcute” Syahrin is being cautioned to stay alert to ensure his team remains in peak condition until the very end.

In the ongoing MPL ID Season 15 Regular Season, Khezcute has earned praise as the only Indonesian coach to secure three consecutive group stage victories, spanning from Season 13 to 15. This feat was previously matched only by Onic ID’s interim Filipino coach, Paul “Yeb” Denver, who achieved a similar threepeat from Seasons 10 to 12.

However, RRQ Kingdom fans are approaching this success with caution. They are well aware of Khezcute’s bittersweet track record in playoffs: despite strong Regular Season performances, his teams have yet to clinch a championship. In fact, opponents they dominated earlier often rebound as formidable threats in critical matches—a pattern fans are loudly highlighting on social media.

Last season serves as a stark reminder for the 32-year-old coach. In Season 14, RRQ confidently topped the standings but fell short in the Grand Final against Team Liquid ID, a team that had struggled against them in both the Regular Season and Upper Bracket Final.

Looking further back, Khezcute faced similar heartbreak during his coaching debut with Bigetron in MPL ID Season 13. Despite a dominant Regular Season run, the team was eliminated early by underperformed Evos and Geek Fam.

These bitter experiences have driven Khezcute to focus intensely on maintaining his squad’s mental resilience until the end of MPL ID Season 15. With competition growing fiercer, every team is poised to deliver surprises in what remains Indonesia’s most anticipated esports showdown.
