Kenneth Jonassen proposes sparring program with world-class players for Malaysia

Kenneth Jonassen, BAM (Badminton Association of Malaysia) Singles Coaching Director — proposes a breakthrough initiative to enhance Malaysian singles players’ performance.

The former Viktor Axelsen’s coach plans to bring world-class players as training partners — an idea that received positive feedback from Justin Hoh.

This proposal emerges after observing stagnant achievements in Malaysia’s singles sector — particularly in men’s singles, which actually has several promising talents in BWF elite tournaments.

The situation becomes more urgent as Ng Tze Yong — Malaysia’s current best player — needs to rest due to ACL injury. BAM national training center now only has one main level player for practice, while the rest are junior players.

Justin Hoh and Leong Jun Hao — two of Malaysia’s key players — need more varied training and tactical approaches for their skill development.
