Keisuke Honda to Lead Asia Warriors Football Legends Team in Friendly Matches

Asian football legends have formed a team called Asia Warriors Football (AWF) — an initiative led by Keisuke Honda, former captain of the Japan national team.

The team will conduct friendly matches in Malaysia and Indonesia in the near future. Several renowned players who have joined AWF:

  • Tomoaki Makino (Japan)
  • Lee Young-pyo (South Korea)
  • Ashkan Dejagah (Iran)
  • Baihakki Khaizan (Singapore)
  • Stephan Schrock (Philippines)
  • Daisuke Sato (Philippines)
  • Arthur Irawan (Indonesia)
  • Greg Nwokolo (Indonesia)

AWF Co-Founder, Anton del Rosario, explained that this program is designed for former Asian international players who still want to experience high-level competitive atmosphere.

“This excellent initiative aims to showcase how different and strong Asian football culture is in the eyes of the world,” stated the former Philippines national team defender.

Honda positively welcomed the program that Anton had previously implemented in the Philippines — “I think this is an even better idea than previous ones.”
