Kazakhstan withdraws from AVC Nations Cup 2025, schedule changes announced

The AVC Nations Cup 2025, scheduled to take place at Isa bin Rashed Hall, Bahrain — has undergone schedule modifications following Kazakhstan’s decision to withdraw from the tournament.

This tournament, which serves as a qualification pathway for the 2026 Asian Championship, will still run from June 17-24, 2025, however the geopolitical situation regarding Israel’s attack on Iran has forced Kazakhstan to withdraw their participation.

Pool B now only contains two teams — Qatar and Australia, both ranked in the world’s top 40, will advance directly to the quarter-finals without requiring a redraw.

The schedule changes include:

• Cancellation of Kazakhstan vs Qatar match (June 17)
• Cancellation of Kazakhstan vs Australia match (June 18)
• Qatar vs Australia match remains scheduled for June 19
