Kazakhstan volleyball team withdraws from AVC Nations Cup due to Israel-Iran conflict

According to the official statement from Kazakhstan Volleyball Federation, their men’s national volleyball team — currently ranked 60th in the world — announced their withdrawal from AVC Nations Cup 2025.

The tournament scheduled to take place at Isa bin Rashed Hall, Manama, Bahrain on June 17-24, 2025 had to be missed due to deteriorating geopolitical situation in the Gulf region — Israel’s attacks on Iran have closed access to safe travel routes.

“The Federation has considered possible alternative routes in a short time, but none of these routes would allow the team to reach Bahrain on time without endangering the health and safety of the athletes,” the official statement reads.

Despite intensive preparation, the Kazakhstan team must accept the bitter reality that the safety of players and coaching staff remains the top priority — forcing them to make the decision to withdraw from the competition.
