Kabupaten Tangerang reclaims Banten Provincial Chess Championship title

According to Bolasport.com, Kabupaten Tangerang has proven its dominance — claiming the overall championship title at the 2025 Banten Provincial Chess Championship held at the DPUPR Building in Serang City.

The championship, taking place on July 12-13, was attended by high-ranking officials — including the Vice Governor of Banten and Governor of North Sulawesi as guests of honor.

Athletes from Kabupaten Tangerang showed impressive performance by collecting:

• 22 medals across 14 competition categories
• 10 medals secured by Kota Tangerang in second place
• 8 medals gathered by Kota Tangerang Selatan in third place

“Alhamdulillah, we have managed to bring home the rotating trophy for the ninth time,” stated Hendra, chairman of Percasi Kabupaten Tangerang.

This achievement becomes more meaningful after Kabupaten Tangerang failed to defend their title last year, which they had won eight consecutive times.
