Juncos Hollinger Racing Team’s Hauler Catches Fire on I-74 Highway

According to Motorsport.com, Juncos Hollinger Racing team faced a critical situation when their hauler caught fire on Interstate 74 — approximately four hours away from their Indianapolis headquarters.

The incident occurred following disappointing results at Iowa race, where car number 76 driven by Conor Daly missed out on a top-five finish due to a late yellow flag. The fire originated from the truck’s rear axle — cause still under team investigation.

While the hauler carrying two race cars and Sting Ray Robb’s equipment suffered serious damage, no injuries were reported in the incident. The team is now evaluating whether the truck can be used again.

“A tough weekend in Iowa, both on and off the track,” stated the team in an official release. “After the #77 car’s early retirement, our hauler caught fire on I-74 while heading back to the shop. It was a scary moment for the team, but thankfully everyone is safe.”

Facing a tight schedule with Toronto race this weekend, followed by Laguna Seca and Portland — Juncos Hollinger Racing will use a hauler provided by Andretti Global to meet their championship commitments.
