Journalism Claims Dramatic Victory at Haskell Invitational

Journalism recorded a dramatic victory at the prestigious Haskell Invitational held at Monmouth Park, New Jersey — cementing his dominance in elite American horse racing.

Despite a poor start under jockey Umberto Rispoli, the 2-5 odds favorite managed to launch an impressive sprint at the final turn — passing Gosger and Goal Oriented who were locked in a tight duel ahead.

“You feel like you’re on a diesel,” said Rispoli. “He’s motoring and motoring. You never know when he’s going to take off. To do what he did today, it’s unbelievable.”

This victory marks the sixth win in nine starts for trainer Michael McCarthy’s charge, while securing a ticket to the $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic set for Del Mar on November 1.

Journalism’s previous achievements include victory at the Preakness Stakes and runner-up positions at both Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes — making him the only horse to compete in all Triple Crown series this year.
