Joseph Rosales Gets Three-Match Ban from MLS

Minnesota United midfielder Joseph Rosales has been handed a three-match suspension by Major League Soccer (MLS) following a verbal altercation with Vancouver Whitecaps FC forward Emmanuel Sabbi.

The decision comes after an independent investigation by MLS, which examined allegations that Rosales used discriminatory language during the encounter.

Minnesota United backs Rosales

In an official statement, Minnesota United expressed support for Rosales:

“After speaking extensively with Rosales and several members of our team, our club believes and supports him.”

Matches Rosales will miss

As part of the suspension, Rosales will miss the following matches:
  • Houston Dynamo (MLS regular season)

  • St. Louis City (MLS regular season)

  • St. Louis City (U.S. Open Cup – Round of 16)

Required program before return

Before returning to play, Rosales must complete a restorative practices program as mandated by the league.
