Jose Mourinho Dismisses Portugal National Team Rumors

Fenerbahce head coach Jose Mourinho has strongly denied rumors claiming he met with officials from the Portuguese Football Federation to discuss taking over the Portugal national football team.

“I can deny that I’ve never held any meeting with the Portuguese Football Federation. I’m a loyal person,” Mourinho stated.

Fenerbahce president Ali Koç previously revealed that Mourinho had turned down a lucrative €36 million offer earlier this season — a move that demonstrated his firm commitment to the club.

Commenting on Galatasaray‘s recent league title win, Mourinho criticized the nature of their celebration — especially the penalty taken by Fernando Muslera in the closing minutes of a game already at 2-0.

Fenerbahce ended the season as Turkish Super League runners-up after defeating Eyüpspor 2-1, while Galatasaray secured the title with an eight-point lead.
