Jorge Martin Trapped in Contract Conflict with Aprilia for 2026 MotoGP

According to Bolasport.com, Jorge Martin’s efforts to terminate his contract with Aprilia for the 2026 season are facing serious obstacles.

The reigning MotoGP champion is attempting to activate a performance clause to leave the team a year early — however Aprilia insists there is no basis justifying their star rider’s departure.

Although tensions eased during Aprilia’s promotional event last month, the situation reignited when manager Albert Valera announced Martin’s free contract status for 2026 during last week’s Dutch MotoGP.

“Dorna, MSMA, and IRTA will not accept World Championship registration for riders who are not free from contracts,” stated Carmelo Ezpeleta, Dorna Sports CEO, to Sky Italia.
