Jorge Martin suffers pneumothorax after Qatar MotoGP crash

Jorge Martin of Aprilia Racing faces a difficult situation — the Spanish rider cannot return to his home country following a serious accident at the 2025 Qatar MotoGP.

The incident occurred at turn 12 of Lusail Circuit with nine laps remaining — the front tire of his RS-GP lost grip and ran wide off the track. The situation became more complicated when Fabio Di Giannantonio from VR46 team couldn’t avoid contact.

A medical examination revealed concerning conditions — Martin suffered 11 broken ribs and was diagnosed with pneumothorax. Through his Instagram Story, the rider shared a photo showing his body still connected to various medical equipment.

The 2025 season has been challenging for Martin — he had previously missed three race series due to injuries during pre-season testing.
