Jorge Martin Set to Return at Qatar MotoGP after Lengthy Injury

Factory Aprilia team has confirmed that MotoGP world champion Jorge Martin will return to action at Qatar GP this weekend — after missing the first three races of 2025 season.

The rider who suffered a pre-season Supermoto training accident must undergo medical assessment before participating in Friday’s FP1 — his first session on a MotoGP bike since February injury.

“I have a great desire to be back on the track and I’m happy to at least try and race in Qatar. The goal will be to build confidence with the RS-GP25 and begin turning some laps,” stated Martin.

“I don’t know how my physical fitness will be — certainly not 100%. Just finishing the race would be a victory because that means I’m starting to recover,” he added.

Following surgery on February 25, Martin underwent intensive physical therapy program to speed up his recovery. However, the rider who just joined Aprilia this season still needs clearance from MotoGP medical delegation before being allowed to race.
