According to MotoGP.com, Jorge Martin has received clearance from MotoGP Medical Director Dr Angel Charte to participate in this weekend’s Qatar GP.

The Spanish rider — who missed the first three races of the 2025 season due to a Supermoto accident in Catalonia — will begin his first free practice session with his new Aprilia team.

While granted full permission to race at Losail Circuit, Martin must undergo additional checks after Friday’s practice session. The Madrid-born rider acknowledges his modest expectations — considering limited testing time with the RS-GP machine and potential lingering discomfort.

After moving from Pramac Ducati to the Aprilia factory team for 2025, Martin’s preparation was disrupted by two incidents — a testing accident at Sepang and then the Supermoto incident. He now joins his teammate Marco Bezzecchi for the first time since attending the previous race in the United States.
