Jorge Martin Reveals Intention to Leave Aprilia After 2025

Jorge Martin has officially declared his plan to part ways with Aprilia Racing team, at the conclusion of the 2025 MotoGP season, ending weeks of speculation about his contract situation.

The 27-year-old rider’s contract includes a clause permitting his departure if he’s not in championship contention by the Le Mans round. However, persistent injuries have derailed his campaign — with his only appearance this season being at Qatar.

“At no point have I breached the contract,” said Martin.
“When we signed it, I agreed with Aprilia that if certain conditions were not met, I would reserve the right to decide my future for 2026.”

Respectful Tone Despite Uncertain Future

Martin added that he had kept communication lines open with Aprilia, suggesting a willingness to re-evaluate after recovery:

“Unfortunately, the circumstances caused by the crashes have influenced this phase. That’s why I’ve always been open to dialogue with Aprilia about extending this evaluation period to a certain number of races after my return.”

The 2024 world champion with Pramac Ducati emphasized his respect for Aprilia, who currently hold third in the team standings, and maintained a non-confrontational tone towards the Italian manufacturer.

Honda Emerges as Possible Destination

Honda is rumored to be a strong contender for Martin’s services in 2026, especially after Ducati failed to deliver on promises of promoting him to the factory team for both 2023 and 2026 seasons.
