Jorge Martin Makes MotoGP Return at Czech GP

Jorge Martin marked his MotoGP return with a promising performance at the Czech GP. The reigning world champion — starting from twelfth position — surged to sixth place by the first corner.

In the sprint race, Marc Marquez emerged victorious, followed by Pedro Acosta in second and Enea Bastianini in third. Martin finished eleventh — just behind Pol Espargaro who secured points in ninth position.

“I’m very happy to be back racing. Though initially nervous, I managed to focus and make a great start,” Martin expressed after the race.

The Spanish rider had a lengthy absence following two serious incidents — a pre-season testing crash in Thailand resulting in a broken left hand, and a second crash in Qatar GP causing a collapsed lung and rib fractures.

Despite previously announcing his departure from Aprilia, Martin has extended his contract through 2026. He now focuses on building confidence and understanding his bike’s characteristics — particularly in braking and handling within the pack of riders.
