Jorge Martin heading to private test in Misano before Czech GP comeback

The future of Jorge Martin with Aprilia has become a hot topic — after Honda HRC Team Manager Alberto Puig expressed reluctance to contract the 27-year-old rider for the 2026 season before his Aprilia contract status is resolved.

The Spanish rider has missed the first three rounds of the 2025 season due to a series of accidents — starting with two incidents in pre-season followed by a crash at Qatar GP that has forced his absence until now.

Massimo Rivola from Aprilia revealed the team’s recovery plan for Martin:

“We plan to test Martin at Misano on July 9 if his medical condition allows. After that, we will evaluate his readiness to return to racing.”

The Brno circuit becomes a realistic target for Martin’s comeback — with the Czech GP schedule on July 18-20 becoming the long-awaited momentum for the rider’s return to the racing track.
