Jorge Martin confirms no regrets over Aprilia contract drama

Jorge Martin reveals his perspective on the now-resolved contract drama with Aprilia. The MotoGP world champion firmly states he has no regrets about his decisions during the tense period with the Italian manufacturer.

The 27-year-old rider has only managed one race start this year due to severe injuries — suffering 12 broken ribs and pneumothorax in a crash at Qatar GP.

“Nobody can understand when you are in the hospital with 12 broken ribs and cannot sleep for one week. Everything I did was for my future,” Martin stated.

Following intervention from MotoGP organizer Dorna, Martin will remain with Aprilia until 2026 — despite strong rumors about his potential move to Honda.

“Honda was an option, but not the only one. In relationships, it’s like a roller coaster — you can fall in love, have fights, but finally if you like each other, you will work hard to stay together,” Martin explained.

The Spanish rider emphasizes the importance of communication between rider and team — though he feels no need to apologize for the situation as he believes he made the best decisions for his career.
