Jordi Amat rejects Saudi Arabia offers to pursue career in Indonesia

Jordi Amat reveals that he received several offers from clubs in Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, and Spain’s second division — but chose Indonesia as his main destination.

“For me it was clear that I wanted to come to Indonesia. It was my primary choice,” states Jordi Amat.

Despite Saudi Arabian league currently hosting world-class players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane, the Indonesian national team defender chose to join Persija Jakarta with a two-season contract.

“Because this is my country. The treatment here has always been very good from the start. I must thank all supporters, both from the national team and now from Persija. Their support is incredible,” says Amat.

The defender is now focusing on adapting with the team — undergoing intensive training both on the field and in the gym for the upcoming season.
