Jordi Amat joins Persija Jakarta to boost Indonesia national team chances

Jordi Amat has officially joined Persija Jakarta on a two-year contract — the player will begin his journey with Macan Kemayoran in Liga 1 for the 2025/2026 season.

The former Johor Darul Ta’zim player has a specific target with his new club — competing for top positions after the capital city team only managed a mid-table finish last season.

“I have strong reasons for choosing Persija as the competitive nature of Liga 1 will open up greater opportunities to be called up to the Indonesia national team,” stated Amat.

The defender emphasized his desire to continue accumulating caps with the Garuda squad — despite receiving offers from Spanish and Saudi Arabian clubs.
