Jordi Alba remains proud despite Inter Miami’s Club World Cup exit

Jordi Alba — Inter Miami’s wing-back and Lionel Messi’s teammate — expressed his pride in the team’s performance despite their elimination from the 2025 Club World Cup.

The Herons’ journey ended in the round of 16 after suffering a heavy 0-4 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Their debutant status didn’t prevent Inter Miami from delivering an impressive group stage performance — they managed to advance to the knockout phase as Group A runners-up.

“We had three very strong rivals in our group, and honestly, we were better,” Alba told ESPN.

The former Barcelona star believes his team was unfortunate in their final group stage match against Palmeiras — Inter Miami failed to maintain a two-goal lead, resulting in a 2-2 draw.
