Jordan Pepper claims maiden DTM victory at Norisring circuit

Jordan Pepper – the 28-year-old South African driver – secured his maiden DTM victory with a dominant performance at the Norisring circuit. This triumph comes just a week after his success at the Spa 24 Hours event.

“These were the longest 55 minutes of my life,” stated Pepper, who piloted the Grasser team’s Lamborghini.

Despite losing nearly 10 seconds during a pit stop due to a right rear tire issue, Pepper’s advantage built in the first half was sufficient to maintain the lead. Thomas Preining in his Porsche finished second, three seconds behind, while Maro Engel completed the podium.

An incident occurred on the opening lap when Engel made contact with defending Norisring winner Nicki Thiim, who spun and finished last. Stewards deemed it a regular racing incident.

Positions 4-10 were occupied by:
* Thierry Vermeulen
* Jack Aitken
* Lucas Auer
* Jules Gounon
* Arjun Maini
* Ricardo Feller
* Rene Rast

Lucas Auer maintains the championship lead, with Pepper now just six points behind in second place and Engel in third.
