Jonatan Christie Reveals Reasons for Leaving PBSI National Training Camp

According to Bolasport.com, Jonatan Christie has officially opened up about his decision to leave the PBSI National Training Camp, alongside fellow shuttler Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, in order to pursue a professional badminton career.

“As I mentioned earlier, everything started after the Olympics. Again, there were many considerations — it wasn’t easy,” said the 27-year-old.

Decision Based on Personal and Family Considerations

Jonatan emphasized that the move came after extensive discussions with his family, coaches, and his wife. He also cited the response from PBSI as encouraging:

“Basically, they don’t want to hinder my future. If Jojo wants to play as a professional player, it’s okay,” he quoted from PBSI’s statement.

He also consulted Taufik Hidayat and M. Fadil Imran (PBSI Chairman), both of whom fully supported his decision.

“So essentially there’s nothing wrong, no issues whatsoever. Everything purely comes from my condition and family situation, as well as my status as a family man,” Jonatan added.
