Jonatan Christie Kalahkan Kunlavut, Bawa Indonesia Unggul

Jonatan Christie delivered a stunning performance by defeating Kunlavut Vitidsarn, the 2023 world champion, in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Sudirman Cup held at the Xiamen Fenghuang Gymnasium, China.

The world No. 6 men’s singles player secured a straight-game victory with a score of 21-9, 22-20 — giving Indonesia a 2-1 lead over Thailand in the 54-minute match.

The match began with high intensity, as both players exchanged points early in the first game before Jonatan Christie pulled ahead with precise net play and sharp dropshots.

Now, Indonesia needs just one more win to advance to the semifinals. That hope rests on the women’s doubles pair Lanny Tria Mayasari and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, who are set to face Jhenicha Sudjaipraparat/Sapsiree Taerattanachai of Thailand.
