Joey Pelupessy Shares Sweet Debut with Indonesia National Team

Defensive midfielder Joey Pelupessy shared his experience of making his debut with the Indonesia national football team to Dutch media outlet De Twentsche Courant Tubantia.

The Maluku-blooded player, who currently plays for Lommel SK, played the full match during the 2026 FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifiers against Bahrain at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium about a month ago.

Coach Patrick Kluivert entrusted Pelupessy with a starting role, and he successfully anchored the midfield, helping the Indonesia national football team secure a 1–0 victory.

“I never expected to finally experience an international match with the Indonesia national football team,” Pelupessy told De Twentsche Courant Tubantia.
