Joey Pelupessy Confident Ahead of Indonesia vs Japan

Joey Pelupessy expressed his optimism ahead of Indonesia’s match against Japan — one of the Asian football powerhouses.

The final Group C match of the third round of the 2026 Asian World Cup Qualifiers will be held at Suita City Football Stadium, Osaka. Although both teams have already secured different fates — Japan qualified directly for the 2026 World Cup and Indonesia advanced to the fourth round of qualifiers, the match still promises fierce competition.

“For me, it’s a very, very interesting match against the top team in Asia, number one in the group, of course,” said Pelupessy in a press conference ahead of the game.

The Samurai Blue are expected to field their strongest lineup despite having already secured qualification — a challenge that Indonesia’s midfielder welcomes positively.
