Joel Cornelli appointed head coach of Malaysia women’s national team

Joel Cornelli has officially been appointed as the head coach of the Malaysia women’s national football team, marking a new chapter in his coaching career in Southeast Asia.

The Brazilian tactician was previously in charge of Arema FC during the first half of the 2024/25 Liga 1 season. He notably led Singo Edan to victory in the 2024 President’s Cup, a highlight of his brief but impactful tenure.

Cornelli’s time with Arema FC concluded in December, following a string of inconsistent performances:
