Joan Mir Reveals Honda’s Struggles at Mugello Circuit

Joan Mir of Honda HRC Castrol acknowledges RC213V’s performance limitations during Italian MotoGP 2025 practice sessions at Mugello Circuit, as reported by Bolasport.com.

All Honda riders — including Johann Zarco, Takaaki Nakagami, and newcomer Somkiat Chantra — struggled to break into the top 15 during practice sessions. This situation forces all four Wing’s team riders to start from Q1 qualifying round.

“This track doesn’t allow us to showcase our bike’s strengths. There are long corners with high angles, very long straights where top speed becomes crucial,” stated the 2020 MotoGP world champion.

Mugello Circuit, stretching 5.245 kilometers with its characteristic long straights — presents unique challenges for Honda team to demonstrate its best performance.
