Joan Mir Hopes to Get Back on Track after String of DNFs in 2025 MotoGP

Joan Mir Hopes to Get Back on Track after String of DNFs in 2025 MotoGP

The Honda rider eyes redemption at British GP after tough start to the season.

Joan Mir continues to battle through a difficult run in the 2025 MotoGP season, as the Honda HRC Castrol rider has been plagued by a series of DNFs (Did Not Finish) in recent races.

The 2020 MotoGP world champion has only managed to complete one weekend so far — the Argentina GP, where he finished 9th in the sprint race and 8th in the main race.

Five straight DNFs haunt Joan Mir’s campaign

Since Argentina, things have gone downhill for Mir, who has failed to finish five Grand Prix events in a row:

  • Thailand GP

  • Americas GP

  • Qatar GP

  • Spanish GP

  • French GP

His latest disappointment came at the French GP, where the Palma de Mallorca native was forced to retire after a collision with Enea Bastianini of Red Bull KTM Tech3. Bastianini attempted a risky inside move that caused Mir to crash out of the race.

Silverstone provides new hope for Mir and Honda

Despite the setback, Joan Mir remains focused ahead of the British Grand Prix, which will take place at Silverstone Circuit on May 23–25.

“I want to leave these results behind and look ahead. I’m working closely with the team to find solutions. Hopefully, Silverstone can be a turning point,” said Mir.

With performance upgrades expected from Honda, the 27-year-old is hoping to bounce back and put points on the board as the season progresses.
