Jill Scott Confident in England’s Euro 2025 Chances

Jill Scott Confident in England’s Euro 2025 Chances

Former England midfielder Jill Scott states there’s no need for excessive panic following the 2-1 defeat to France in their Euro 2025 Group D opener in Switzerland.

“I 100% think there has been an overreaction. The team loses and suddenly it’s panic stations, but we have to remember that France are one of the top teams,” Scott told Press Association.

Team captain Leah Williamson acknowledged emotional defending as the cause of poor result against France — while midfielder Georgia Stanway emphasized their readiness to bounce back against Netherlands.

Sarina Wiegman’s side now faces a must-win situation against Netherlands in Zurich before meeting Wales on July 13.

“One game that doesn’t go your way doesn’t suddenly make you a bad team. The aim would always have been to go in against Netherlands and try and get that win,” added Scott, who represented England 161 times.
