The Iraq Football Federation, through their official Instagram account, announced the dismissal of coach Jesus Casas Garcia from his position as the national team head coach.

“The Iraq Football Association announces its decision to terminate the contract of Spanish coach Jesus Casas Garcia and his assistants, due to serious violations of contractual obligations,” stated the official announcement.

The dismissal decision was based on FIFA Article 14 regarding Player Status and Transfer regulations — the federation has officially informed FIFA to preserve their legal rights.

Casas, who previously recorded a victory against the Indonesian national team—ends his tenure in Iraq on an unfavorable note.

The federation is now expected to begin the search for a new head coach ahead of upcoming international fixtures—as Iraq aims to maintain stability in its preparations for future qualification matches.
