Jesse Iwuji Makes NASCAR Xfinity Series Comeback After Two-Year Absence

Jesse Iwuji, a US Navy Reserve officer, is set to return to NASCAR Xfinity Series after nearly two years since his last competition in February 2023.

The 38-year-old driver will join DGM Racing — piloting the No. 91 Chevrolet at Talladega Superspeedway. Iwuji brings extensive NASCAR experience as a driver, team owner, and pit reporter.

Jesse Iwuji’s NASCAR record includes 17 Xfinity Series races with a career-best 11th-place finish at Daytona International Speedway. In NASCAR Truck Series, he has participated in 16 races with his best result being 17th at Texas Motor Speedway.

DGM Racing, owned by Mario Gosselin, has previously utilized three different drivers for the No. 91 car this year — Josh Bilicki, Myatt Snider, and C.J. McLaughlin. The team also runs the No. 71 car driven by Ryan Ellis.

Out of 41 cars entered for the NASCAR Xfinity race at Talladega, only 38 grid spots are available. Katherine Legge, who previously missed the Rockingham race, is also listed among the entrants.
