Jerax Joins Parivision for Blast Slam 3

OG’s legend Jesse “Jerax” Vainikka has just been announced as the latest stand-in coach for the Dota 2 team Parivision, who will compete in the Blast Slam 3 tournament later today.

Jerax will step in as Parivision’s head coach, replacing Filipe “Astini” Ribeiro, who withdrew from the competitive circuit to accompany his pregnant wife in his home country of Brazil. He is expected to remain in this role temporarily beyond Blast Slam.

This news definitely comes as a surprise to the Dota community, especially given Jerax’s prolonged absence from competitive Dota. After winning back-to-back International championships in 2018 and 2019, he retired in 2020 and transitioned into coaching for several top European teams.

In 2022, he took on the opportunity to coach Team Liquid and compete in major tournaments. Unfortunately, the team failed to secure a spot at TI 2022, prompting Jerax to resign and take an extended hiatus from the competitive Dota scene.

With his wealth of experience and Parivision’s strong roster, the Finnish coach has the potential to elevate the team’s performance to new levels, possibly surpassing their previous games.
