Jay Idzes Getting Closer to Torino, but Sassuolo Not Giving Up

Jay Idzes memberikan harga 1 Juta Euro kepada Torino

Indonesian center-back Jay Idzes, a key player for Venezia, has become one of the hottest properties in the 2025 Serie A summer transfer window. The 25-year-old is reported to have reached a personal agreement with Torino, including a long-term contract until 2029 and a salary of around €1 million per season. However, the deal is not 100% complete due to ongoing negotiations between the clubs and pressure from competing teams—especially Sassuolo, who have now emerged as the main rivals.

Personal Terms Agreed with Torino, but Deal Depends on Funds

According to various Italian media reports, Idzes has given the green light to Torino after smooth personal negotiations. A five-year contract is ready to be signed. However, the process still depends on an agreement between Torino and Venezia, who are still negotiating the transfer fee.

Torino is said to have offered €8–9 million plus bonuses, which is close to Venezia’s initial €10 million asking price. The funds for this transfer largely depend on the successful sale of Saul Coco to Spartak Moscow. If Coco does not end up moving, Torino will likely struggle to finalize Idzes’ transfer due to their limited summer budget.

From a technical and tactical perspective, Idzes is seen as a good fit for Ivan Juric’s system at Torino—a left-footed center-back who is strong in aerial duels, aggressive in pressing, and able to carry the ball into midfield. His arrival would add depth to the squad and help regenerate a defense that has lost several senior players.

Sassuolo Move Ahead, Genoa Pull Back

While Torino is still considered to be in pole position, Sassuolo have now emerged as serious competitors. The Emilia-Romagna club is rebuilding their defense after narrowly escaping relegation last season, and Jay Idzes is a top target. Some Italian local media even report that Sassuolo has already made a direct approach to Venezia with a more aggressive proposal than Torino.

This situation makes negotiations increasingly complex. Sassuolo had previously targeted Fali Candé, Idzes’ teammate at Venezia, but that player is now being approached by Cremonese. Sassuolo has shifted its full focus to Idzes, offering a long-term project and regular playing time in a new system under their new coach, who reportedly plans to rely on a three-at-the-back formation.

Meanwhile, Genoa, who were initially interested, seem to be pulling out of the race. Their slow negotiations and limited funds have caused them to lose momentum in the pursuit of Idzes’ signature.

Fierce Torino vs Sassuolo Duel, Idzes Must Choose Wisely

Jay Idzes’ transfer has now entered a crucial phase. On one hand, Torino have the advantage of a personal agreement, but can’t guarantee payment without first selling Saul Coco. On the other hand, Sassuolo have come in with serious intent, an attractive project, and more flexible finances, though there are no reports yet of personal terms being agreed with the player.

For Idzes himself, this decision is vital. At Torino, he would be part of a solid and ambitious squad, but might have to fight harder for minutes. At Sassuolo, he could play a more central role and develop systematically as the team rebuilds its identity.

Whatever the outcome, one thing is clear: the Indonesian defender has become a valuable asset in Serie A, and his progress in the coming seasons will greatly impact his future with the Garuda national team. Indonesian fans certainly hope Idzes can develop in a competitive environment, maintain his fitness, and get regular playing time to keep strengthening the national squad at the international level.

Venezia have set a €10 million asking price for Idzes. Torino have offered €8–9 million plus bonuses, and although this is not the full amount, it is close enough to continue negotiations.

On the player’s side, Idzes has already agreed to personal terms with Torino, reportedly set to earn €1 million per year in a contract running until 2029. In short, the status of Jay Idzes’ transfer is now at an advanced stage, with personal terms agreed but club-to-club negotiations still actively ongoing.
