Jay Idzes has expressed his readiness to join top-tier European clubs, but for now, his priority remains clear — helping Venezia avoid relegation from Italy’s top division.

The Mierlo-born defender has captured European media attention with his consistent performances for both Venezia and the Indonesian national team.

This season, Idzes has been a rock at the back, making 32 appearances across all competitions. He has also scored two goals — one in Serie A and another in the Coppa Italia.

With these achievements, Idzes became the first Indonesian player to both play and score in Italy’s Serie A. His profile has risen further after being named team captain following Joel Pohjanpalo’s transfer to Palermo during the winter window.

Head coach Eusebio Di Francesco continues to rely on Idzes as the backbone of Venezia’s defense this season, underscoring his vital role in the team.
