Jannik Sinner Reveals Key to Staying World No. 1: “It’s About Consistency and Growth”

Jakarta – Top-ranked ATP star Jannik Sinner has opened up about the key to his sustained dominance on the professional tour, emphasizing that consistency and continuous self-improvement are what keep him at the top.

Speaking during the Terra Wortmann Open 2025, the 23-year-old Italian reflected on what it takes to remain at world No. 1 for over 54 consecutive weeks, a milestone only a few greats like Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic have achieved.

“Being number one is a result of the work you put in—not something I focus on daily,” Sinner told ATP.

“I’ve tried to stay consistent, and I feel I’ve become a better player since last year.”

Since claiming the top spot in June 2024, Sinner has compiled a stellar 59-5 win-loss record, lifted multiple titles, and earned praise for his maturity, tactical discipline, and mental toughness. His rise was cemented with strong showings at Grand Slams and Masters 1000 events, and he continues to build momentum during the grass-court season.

Now gearing up for Wimbledon 2025, Sinner remains focused on development, not rankings.

“The important thing is to keep improving. That’s what motivates me every day.”

With this mindset, Sinner continues to lead by example—as both a champion and a model of professional growth in men’s tennis.
