Jafar/Felisha eliminate third seeds in Asian Championships quarterfinals

Mixed doubles pair Jafar Hidayatullah/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu created a major upset at the Asian Championships 2025 — defeating third seeds in the quarterfinals at Ningbo Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium, China.

Facing Malaysian veterans Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie, the Indonesian representatives showed no signs of intimidation — displaying fast-paced game and solid defense that troubled their opponents.

Jafar/Felisha’s dominance became evident as they surged from a 2-4 deficit to take a commanding 11-4 lead. The aggressive gameplay of the young Indonesian pair left the Malaysian duo struggling.

The match began with long rallies won by the Indonesian side. Though leading at 9-5, Felisha’s error at the front court allowed the score to level at 9-9.
