Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has declined to provide certainty about the future of Jadon Sancho — who is currently on loan from Manchester United.

The initial agreement stated Chelsea had an obligation to permanently purchase Sancho for £25 million, but the club can pay £5 million to cancel this commitment. The 25-year-old’s performance has been below expectations with only two goals and seven assists from 28 appearances.

“All the players that are with us, I love all of them. But in this moment, it is the moment to finish well, not to think about next season,” said Maresca.

“In terms of numbers, he could do better, no doubt. But it is not just about Jadon, we have more players in the same situation,” he added.

Chelsea will host Tottenham Hotspur with positive news — Cole Palmer, Noni Madueke, and Nicolas Jackson have recovered from injuries. Maresca also revealed that he cancelled a scheduled day off last week after the first team lost a training match against the U-21 squad.
