Arm Injury Forces Jack Draper Out of US Open 2025

British tennis star Jack Draper has officially withdrawn from the 2025 US Open and key lead-up events in Toronto and Cincinnati due to an arm injury sustained shortly after his Wimbledon campaign.

The 22-year-old, who had shown strong form during the grass-court season, including a promising run at SW19, will miss the upcoming North American hard-court swing as he focuses on recovery and rehabilitation.

The Lawn Tennis Association confirmed Draper’s withdrawal on Sunday, citing medical advice that recommended rest and treatment for his right arm. The injury reportedly worsened in the days following Wimbledon, leaving him unable to train at full intensity.

“It’s disappointing to miss such big events, especially the US Open, but my priority has to be long-term health,” Draper said in a statement.

“I’ll be working hard with my team to recover fully and return stronger.”

Draper’s absence is a blow to British hopes in the final Grand Slam of the year, especially after his impressive performances in the 2025 season, including a title run in Stuttgart and consistent showings on both grass and clay.

Known for his aggressive left-handed play and athleticism, Draper has climbed steadily in the ATP rankings over the past year and was seen as a potential dark horse in New York.

While a specific timeline for his return hasn’t been confirmed, his team remains optimistic about a possible comeback during the indoor hard-court season in the fall.

Fans will be hoping this is only a minor setback in what has been a breakout year for Draper.
