Iskandar appointed as Malaysia’s national women’s singles coach

According to BAM’s official announcement, Iskandar will take on new duties as Malaysia’s national women’s singles coach — marking his return to the organization that shaped his career.

BAM Director Jonassen welcomed Iskandar’s appointment positively. “We are pleased to welcome Iskandar back to BAM in this important role,” he stated.

“His coaching duties at the international level, combined with his background as a national player, present a valuable mix of experience and perspective.”

The 34-year-old Iskandar expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to Malaysian badminton development.

“It feels great to return to BAM. This time not as a player, but as a coach ready to give back. My journey in Ireland has taught me many things, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to apply these lessons here.”

Currently, the Malaysian women’s singles squad that Iskandar will coach has only two active players on the World Tour — K. Letshanaa and Wong Ling Ching, who mostly compete in minor-level tournaments.
