Isa Warps scores on debut as Indonesia Women’s team defeats Kyrgyzstan

Isa Warps made a memorable debut for Indonesia Women’s National Team — scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan at Indomilk Arena, Tangerang.

The opening match of Group D in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers marked a historic moment for the Dutch-Indonesian player — who earned her first international cap.

“I was very excited and nervous before my first match. I’m happy to help the team secure victory today. This is truly amazing,” said Warps.

The player who obtained Indonesian citizenship through her father’s lineage has a grandmother from Padang — Fhilhomena Wilma Satine Rouschop.

“This is special for me. I think my grandmother might be with me in heaven and helped me today. This celebration is for my grandmother,” Warps said emotionally.

The debut in front of Indonesian supporters also left a deep impression on Warps — who admitted she had never played before such a large crowd before.
