Isa Warps becomes hero as Indonesia Women’s team defeats Kyrgyzstan in Asian Cup qualifier

Indonesia Women’s National Team — secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan in their opening Group D match of 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualification on Sunday (29/6).

Coach Satoru Mochizuki maximized team strength by fielding four naturalized players — Iris de Rouw, Emily Nahon, Felicia de Zeeuw, and Isa Warps from the start.

Claudia Scheunemann had two golden opportunities in the first half — breaking through the opposition defense but failing to convert one-on-one chances against the Kyrgyz goalkeeper.

Despite dominating possession, Garuda Pertiwi only managed to create threats through long-range shots. The game’s intensity dropped in the second half, but a lone goal from Isa Warps — secured three valuable points for Indonesia.
