Iris de Rouw determined to bounce back with national team after Pakistan defeat

Indonesia women’s national team goalkeeper, Iris de Rouw, has expressed her determination to recover after their defeat to Pakistan in the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualification match at Indomilk Arena Stadium, Tangerang.

The Garuda Pertiwi squad conceded a 0-2 loss to Pakistan — with goals scored by Nadia and Suha Hirani in the 8th and 19th minutes.

“Until the final whistle blows, we can keep pushing forward, keep fighting, and never give up. Because nothing is over until the referee blows the whistle,” stated de Rouw in the mixed zone.

“But I feel we somewhat wasted that by perhaps giving up too early. We should have treated the second half as a new game in our minds,” she added.

Despite this setback, coach Rudy Eka Priyambada’s team is determined to perform better in their upcoming match against Taiwan.
